Opera Only amplifier by Andrea Pivetta: 120kW in AB modular design

Italian “technology designer” Andrea Pivetta has presented to the world his next creation – the Opera Only power amplifier. The system, by tradition for the developer, is modular. When assembled, it is a vertical cylindrical structure assembled from modules-sectors. It was proposed to treat the novelty not only as a “technical and functional tool, but also as a work of art”.

The black 12-sided prism in aircraft-grade aluminum weighs approximately 1,800 kg. Opera Only is available in 6×20,000 W or 12×10,000 W RMS configurations.

The system is serviced by six 30 kW triple-insulated toroidal transformers, 16 ceramic diodes rated for voltages up to 1600 V and currents up to 400 A (total 6 400 A), 216 Kendeil 6 800 μF 160 V aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a period of more than 200,000 hours of service and 2,112 high current bipolar transistors.

The novelty is equipped with 12 analog RCA inputs (digital ones are also available on request). The 12 output channels have 192 SpeakON connectors. Opera Only in full configuration is capable of delivering 120 kW (up to 30 kW the amplifier works in class A), while the THD + N parameter does not exceed 0.002%.
