Updated floor standing speakers Fyne Audio F501SP: modified crossover and ground terminal

Fyne Audio has released the F501 floor standing speakers in a Special Production (SP) version. We have already talked about a similar upgrade done with the Fyne Audio F502SP model. In the F501SP systems, the developments from the premium F700 series were applied in the same way. The speakers received a proprietary “point source driver” IsoFlare. At the center of the 6-inch FyneFlute woofer is a 25-mm compression magnesium tweeter.

The two radiators are said to be matched so well that a 1st order filter was sufficient to separate the signal between them. It was included in the circuit of the updated crossover F501SP, another filter of which belongs to the 2nd order. The speaker cable terminal panel has also changed – in particular, it has been supplemented with a grounding terminal. This will reduce the effects of RFI, according to Fyne Audio.

The cabinets in the SP version are complemented by an aluminum sandwich plinth. It aims to make the entire structure more stable, while at the same time increasing the efficiency of the BassTrax Tractrix downward-firing circular bass reflex. For the Fyne Audio F501SP floor standing speakers, the lower frequency limit is 36 Hz – with a power of 80 W RMS, their sensitivity is 91 dB. The speakers are available in high-gloss black or white piano lacquer or high-gloss walnut finish.

In the first two versions, the cost of the Fyne Audio F501SP in Europe was 3,500 euro. In the high-gloss walnut design, they cost €500 more.
