Headphone housings are made of silicone in the shape of the customer’s auricle; the detachable cable has a two-pole connector. Unlike many other manufacturers, the Spiral Ear developers use one armature driver to sound each of the six sections of the frequency range.

The use of a six-band design is designed to maximize the potential of armature drivers, which are known to perform best in a narrow frequency band. However, this required the use of six independent waveguides in the Hexa-Bore structure, which converge together at the exit nozzle. The efforts made, according to the makers of the headphones, resulted in improved dynamics and detail, as well as better bass response.
