AIAIAI TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition: Headphones made from recycled records

Danish headphone company AIAIAI and independent British label Ninja Tune have jointly released the TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition headphones. The basic version of the TMA-2 is a full-size wireless headphone that has been improved for about 10 years. The modular concept allows for the replacement and upgrade of individual headphone parts.

The main feature of the TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition is the material from which they are made: unsold Ninja Tune records were used for the bodies. Thus, according to the label, “at last there was a way to make people listen to his most non-standard releases”.

In addition, recycled vinyl is in line with Ninja Tune’s environmental guidelines. Representatives of the label said that by the end of 2021 their business will become carbon-neutral, and then completely carbon-negative.

The TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition headphones themselves are based on the 2015 AIAIAI TMA-2. They got 40mm S05 drivers with biocellulose diaphragms from NAC Audio and neodymium magnets. The ear cushions and headband are made of memory foam and covered with sustainable faux (vegan) leather.

The headphones receive a wireless signal via Bluetooth and are ready to work autonomously for up to 20 hours. The circulation of the novelty is limited to 1,000 copies.

The cost of the TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition in Europe is 250 euros.
