Audio-Technica AT-ART20 MC Cartridge: 60 Years of Firm Know-How

Audio-Technica‘s relatively recent ART series of MC cartridges features a new addition, the AT-ART20. Bob Peet, global product manager for Audio-Technica, said the AT-ART20 is designed to “reproduce sound with the full expressiveness of a live performance” by bringing together “the technology and know-how of 60 years of experience in the design and manufacture of phono cartridges“.

The Audio-Technica AT-ART20 MC Cartridge description refers to a special design of the magnetic core with a front yoke thickened by 0.6 mm – this made it possible to increase the signal swing by more than 15%, up to 0.55mV. The needle with a special line contact is mounted on a holder made of a bur ideal for such applications. All this made it possible to expand the range of reproducible frequencies up to 50,000Hz.

The Audio-Technica AT-ART20 cartridge received a titanium case with an aluminum base and a layer of damping elastomer. Holes for mounting screws are internally threaded – cartridge installation is extremely simple.

Audio-Technica AT-ART20 MC cartridge, according to the manufacturer’s website costs in the USA $3,988.00.
