Discovery+ streaming service to be launched in the US
Information about the launch of its own streaming service from the discovery media company (together with the BBC) appeared in 2019. We started preparing for the launch of the project even earlier. And recently it became known that in January next year, the Discovery+ service will be available to US residents. Note that the service has been operating in the UK in a “trial” mode since November.
In the us market, representatives of the company promised to launch both a TV version of the service and mobile applications. As for other countries, the full list is not yet available, but it is known that Discovery+ will launch in Spain, the Netherlands and Brazil. It is claimed that by the end of 2021, the service can reach 20 countries.
Viewers will be offered a variety of programs, including regular broadcast content and exclusive materials. Users will be able to watch shows from TLC, Food Network, Animal Planet , A&E (there is an agreement with the owner company), History Channel, Travel Channel and Lifetime. Several tens of thousands of episodes and programs are already ready.
The Discovery+ service was recommended for those who like to watch movies about nature, science, home Economics, and cooking. The subscription cost was $5 per month with ads or $7 per month without ads.
