EarMen Colibri: Pocket Headphone DAC/Amp Based on ES9281 PRO
EarMen has released a new pocket DAC/headphone amplifier Colibri. With the size of half a pack of cigarettes, the EarMen Colibri is ready to process PCM signals with resolutions up to 32 bit/384 kHz, DoP, DSD64, DSD128 and MQA for 5 hours in a row. All this is provided by the flagship chipset from ESS – ES9281 PRO DAC.
So that charging does not interfere with listening to music, two USB ports are located at one of the ends of the metal case: for the audio signal and for the power supply. At the output, you can also choose two connection options: balanced 4.4 mm and unbalanced 3.5 mm mini-jack.
The EarMen Colibri is capable of delivering up to 280mW of power to headphones with an impedance of 32Ohms, and the THD + N level is promised no higher than 0.002% at balanced or 0.001% at unbalanced output. The portability of the EarMen Colibri is confirmed by the dimensions of 77x35x14 mm and weighing only 51g.
In the UK, the EarMen Colibri is already on sale for £290.
