Focusrite Clarett+ updated premium audio interfaces
Focusrite updated Clarett+ series of USB audio interfaces are based on the original Clarett models launched a few years ago. The manufacturer said that the fresh Clarett + interfaces are close in quality to the premium segment.
The new series includes three models: Clarett+ 2Pre, 4Pre and 8Pre. According to the company, all of them are equipped with professional preamps with large volume/power headroom, low distortion and minimal noise.
Special attention was paid to the analog circuits Air, emulating the classic Focusrite ISA110 microphone preamp. This option is designed to make it possible to record “clean bright vocals”. Among other things, the new Clarett+ has improved the AD/DA conversion algorithm, and also improved the sound for the headphones.
The models differ from each other in the number of connectors: the 2Pre has 10 inputs and four outputs, the 4Pre has 18 inputs and eight outputs, the top-end 8Pre has room for 18 inputs and 20 outputs. All Clarett+ interfaces are supplied with software.
On the European market, the cost of 2Pre was 500 euros, for the 4Pre – 700 euros, for the 8Pre – 1,000 euros.
