Ikea and Sonos launch Symfonisk Wi-Fi speaker in photo frame design
The problem of compatibility the design of speakers with the interior was solved by Ikea and Sonos. The Symfonisk model in the photo frame form factor is already on sale on the Ikea website – though so far only in Europe and North America. Previous information leaks have already allowed us to imagine the design and capabilities of this column.
Symfonisk combines the power of wireless acoustics with the appearance of a work of art. The first two loudspeakers, released under the same name the year before last, were disguised as a bookshelf and a lamp.
This time, the speaker, which supports AirPlay 2 and Wi-Fi, will be released in two colors: white or black (but Ikea promises to release interchangeable panels with a different design in the future). The column is only 6 cm deep and can be hung on a wall or leaned against something. The 3.5-meter network cable can be wound around the back of the speaker – it can also fit longer. However, the photo frame does not support Bluetooth.
The latest version of Symfonisk on the Ikea site was priced at $200.
