Melco N100-H50 Digital Music Library: 5TB Limited Edition Capacity
Melco Audio has announced a large digital music library, the N100-H50. In fact, this is the same model N100-H20, but with an increased capacity of the built-in storage from 2 to 5 TB.
The N100-H50 will receive the same 215mm half-width case, borrowed in part from the higher N1Z series. From there, the general architecture and the RISC processor used are taken. The novelty can be used as a local Hi-Res player with a DAC output.
An optional dedicated Ethernet port connects the N100-H50 directly to a network player. Streaming Hi-Res live from HighresAudio.com and other sources is also possible. Melco promised to increase their number by the end of the year.
Bitrates up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and Octo DSD are supported, as well as the streaming DSD Melco option. The novelty also works via USB (import and direct playback).
In addition to the front panel or compatible radio remote controls, you can use the proprietary Melco Music HD app to control the N100-H50. The novelty also works over UPnP. The appearance of the N100-H50 in black or silver is promised in early July.
In the UK, the Melco N100-H50 digital music library will cost £2,500 – £500 more than the existing N100-H20, which will also remain on sale.
