Startup Nothing appeared last year, one of the founders of OnePlus, Carl Pei, became the head of the company. This spring, Nothing showed the concept of transparent wireless headphones, and recently it became known that the product is ready to go to the market.
The TWS-type Nothing Ear 1 earbuds have 11.6mm speakers tuned using software from Teenage Engineering (manufacturer of portable DJ speakers, pocket synthesizers and other unusual audio gadgets). Ear 1 used Bluetooth 5.2 with AAC and SBC (without aptX).
It is also known that the headphones were equipped with active noise cancellation with adjustable intensity, Clear Voice technology for telephone conversations without interference and the ability to adjust the sound through a special application. The user will be able to control the headphones using gestures. Among other things, Nothing promised water resistance and fast connection to Android in the Ear 1.
As for autonomy, about 6 hours of music playback is available. The charging case should provide a total of 34 hours of operation. And their body is still not completely transparent: the part in which the speaker is located is white.
Worldwide sales of the headphones will begin on August 17th. On July 31, online sales will be launched through the company’s website. In the US, the cost will be $99.
