New Bang & Olufsen Beolab 28 Active Speakers

The Beolab 28 is Bang & Olufsen most advanced active speaker system to date”. This is how Christopher Poulsen, Senior Vice President and Head of Product Management, Bang & Olufsen, described the new Bang & Olufsen Beolab 28.

The elongated cylindrical speakers receive a set of five specially designed speakers. This is a 6.5 “down-firing woofer, a pair of 3” full-range drivers and an inch dome tweeter. Each is powered by its own Class D amplifier with a maximum output of 225 W for the woofer and 100 W for the other four speakers.

A pair of such speakers is ready to give a loudness of 110 dB (95 dB – at low frequencies). Sound character adjustment uses proprietary Beam Width Control technology with a change in “beam width” and directivity.

For this, Beolab 28 are equipped with swivel curtains – fabric or wood (several options to choose from). Separately, the sound of low frequencies for a specific room will be corrected by another technology – Active Room Compensation.
