Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5 phono preamp allow play vinyl via Bluetooth

The Austrian company Pro-Ject has expanded its family of “boxes” with the Phono Box E BT5 model. This is quite a budget preamp/phono stage for MM-cartridges, but with actual additions.

Firstly, the Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5 switches not one, but two inputs – the input of the corrector and the linear one. Secondly, Phono Box E BT5 gives them to two outputs. The first is a regular 3.5mm line output, which can be connected to any amplifier as usual.

The second is a Bluetooth 5.0 streamer module with support for aptX and aptX HD codecs. The device is ready to stream the sound of the record to a smartphone, and in good quality.

Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5

Thus, the Pro-Ject Phono Box E BT5 will add the functionality of the Pro-Ject VT-E model in the BT version to any turntable equipped with an MM cartridge. On its own, the Phono Box E BT5 delivers 74dBA (A-weighted) noise and a THD of 0.04% or better. The novelty is powered by an external 18V source, its dimensions are: 120x32x100mm.
