Rumors: Apple will release iPod Touch for the 20th anniversary of the player

The first iPod was released 20 years ago – and apparently, Apple plans to celebrate this date. According to rumors, the company will release a special anniversary iPod Touch in the fall.

Rumors are also accompanied by renders with a possible design of the device – the player in the eighth generation will look more like an iPhone 12. It will also receive a 5.4-inch touchscreen and support for FaceID unlocking. True, Steve Moser, who published the information, himself made a reservation that these are unconfirmed rumors and should not be completely trusted.

The latest generation of the iPod was released in 2019 and differed from the previous one primarily in the increased amount of internal memory – up to 256 GB. Also, the player worked on the basis of the A10 Fusion chip and with it was able to turn into a kind of portable game console that supports the Apple Arcade service.

It is possible that the release of the player will also be associated with the launch of lossless streaming in Apple Music.
