Tidal launches Connect technology to stream audio to compatible devices in master quality

Music service Tidal has introduced Tidal Connect audio transmission technology, which has become analogous to similar protocols from other music platforms. For example, Spotify Connect works in a similar way. However, in the case of Tidal, users were promised “the highest quality sound at the level of master recordings.” Also, the developers have tried to make the system simple and reliable – in the sense that the user will not be nervous about interruptions in songs.

The list of partners whose technology is already compatible with Tidal Connect includes Cambridge Audio, Bluesound, KEF, Dali, Naim and some other famous brands. To start using the Tidal Connect streaming system, you need to update your compatible device. For example, a corresponding update has already been released for devices on BluOS (streaming is possible up to 24 bit/192 kHz).

Note: Tidal Connect wireless music streaming technology will only be available to HiFi / Premium members.

To start the broadcast, you need to open the “Now Playing” section (during playback) and find the section with the available devices. In this section, you need to select a device for signal transmission. In this mode, the application on the smartphone will turn into a remote control, and all other functions will be taken over by the connected player / speaker.

The creators of Tidal stressed that so far there has not been a single technology for live streaming on the market that would support MQA, Sony 360 Reality Audio, Dolby Atmos (all of these formats are offered by Tidal HiFi).
