Bony Sound Jazz 2022 two-way loudspeakers with Accuton drivers

“Classical or electronic music will never have sounded the same to you.” promised the Spanish company Bony Sound to the future owners of its two-way loudspeakers Jazz 2022. These speakers are an evolution of the patented proprietary “cabinet building” Dualbox system.

3D design in birch plywood

Bony Sound Jazz 2022 enclosures are made of birch plywood. But these are not the usual cut-to-size flat panels, but bent, prestressed structures held from the inside by steel ties. The wood fibers of the walls intersect in three directions for uniform properties, and natural pressed fabric and sheep wool are used for internal damping of the volumes.

Accuton drivers

The Bony Sound Jazz 2022 speakers are from Accuton, with inverted sapphire cones and titanium voice coils. It is a 30mm tweeter and a 173mm mid/bass driver. A crossover using Mundorf components separates them at 2.5kHz to 35Hz. With an impedance of 8ohms, the speakers are recommended an amplifier with a power of 120 to 200 watts, with which, according to Bony Sound, the new product “works great in medium-sized rooms”.

In addition to the usual Jazz 22, the company also offered a modification of the Jazz 22 Diamond. Both options are identical in all external features and characteristics, except for one – the upper frequency limit. In the case of the Diamond, it is increased from 25 to 32kHz. In terms of finishes, cabinets with curved walls on dedicated supports can be covered with veneer of various types of wood, as well as black or white gloss.

The Jazz 2022 acoustics produced by Bony Sound have already entered the European market: the Jazz 22 will cost 8,990 euros, and the Diamond modification will cost 13,550 euros.
