Bose Frames line of audio glasses now includes Tempo, Tenor and Soprano models

Augmented reality glasses Bose Frames announced in 2018. Unlike competitors, Bose decided to rely not on the visual AR component, but on the sound. A mini-audio system with “powerful clear sound” was built into the glasses to listen to music and receive audio information about the world around us (we wrote more about the product earlier). In 2019, Frames glasses appeared on the Russian market. We were offered two design options: Alto and Rondo.

In June of this year, Bose suddenly announced it was canceling the project, explaining that its AR technologies did not work out as they were intended. Nevertheless, Bose did not abandon the audio glasses: the released models “simplified”, removing the augmented reality functions, but leaving miniature emitters for listening to music. What’s more, the company recently expanded its lineup with Tempo, Tenor and Soprano models. All new glasses, like the existing versions, received polarized lenses and “premium” audio components.

The Tempo Frames was created for outdoor activities. She was protected from moisture, temperature extremes and shocks. There are several different lenses to choose from for these glasses, as well as different nose pads. As for the sound, the manufacturer used two 22mm drivers, which are designed to provide high-quality and powerful sound. Thanks to Bose Open Ear Audio technology, the user will always hear the world around him. The built-in battery should last for 8 hours. Tenor and Soprano goggles are simpler devices for everyday life. Both modifications received 16mm drivers with improved bass. By the way, Bose said that the shape of the glasses has been generally modified for a richer and more detailed sound (when compared to the original first models). Both versions are designed for 5-6 hours of operation on a single charge.

All three new products received Bluetooth 5.1, microphones for telephone conversations and an equalizer adjustment system that automatically responds to changes in volume. In the US, the new audio glasses are already on sale at a price of $250 (the same price for all three new models).
