Cayin MT-35 MK2 PLUS, MT-50 PLUS and MA-80 Selection PLUS Amplifiers Released with GE NOS Tubes
Three popular tube integrated amplifiers of the German company Cayin Audio Distribution GmbH – MT-35 MK2 PLUS, MT-50 PLUS and MA-80 Selection PLUS – were equipped with General Electric NOS tubes from the USA. NOS (New of Old Stock) – “new from old stocks”. As a rule, these are vintage models that are especially appreciated in tube circuits.
In particular, in the new version of the Cayin MA-80 Selection PLUS – an amplifier designed primarily for the German market – three General Electric NOS 5BK7A tubes are used in the preliminary and four EL34 tubes in the power stage. The device is supplemented with an MS phono stage and received a monitoring system and manual bias adjustment for individual lamps.
The Cayin MT-50 PLUS uses four KT88 tetrodes in a push-pull ultra-linear design. The 5BK7A double triode is responsible for adjusting the input voltage. General Electric 5BK7A NOS lamps are also used to drive output stages, switchable between triode and super-linear modes – with balanced sound or dual power output. A specialized NOS US RCA 22DE4 lamp operates in the input stage rectifier.
The exclusive version of the Cayin MT-35 MK2 PLUS amplifier received an input stage on three 5BK7A NOS tubes and an output stage on four EL34s operating in A / B mode. The model also features easy offset adjustment with a front indicator and switchable triode / superlinear mode. The volume is adjusted by the Alps potentiometer. Added to all this is a Bluetooth module.
All three updated integrals will be available for a limited time only. Prices for special versions with General Electric NOS lamps remained unchanged.
In Europe, the Cayin MA-80 Selection PLUS costs 1,896 euros, the Cayin MT-50 PLUS – 2,149 euros, the Cayin MT-35 MK2 PLUS – 1,698 euros.
