Daft Punk duet split up

The electronic music duet Daft Punk, after 28 years of existence, announced their disbandment. The group announced this on their YouTube channel, posting an 8-minute clip from the 2006 film Electroma, Epilogue. The fragment is supplemented by the track “Touch” from the album “Random Access Memories” 2013. The information was confirmed by the group manager Katherine Fraser. The reasons for the collapse have not been named.

Thoma Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo founded Daft Punk in 1993, but the first album, Homework, was not released until 1997. The musicians wanted to shape the sound of the French electronic scene. During its existence, Daft Punk has received seven Grammy awards, released many hits, their albums were recognized as “milestones in dance music”.

Some suspect the video released today is the start of a new project for the duo.
