Albedo Atesia: a complex system based on Helmholtz resonators
Atesia — the flagship floor coverings of the Italian company Albedo. In a pair of speakers with a height of 180 cm and a weight of 170 kg each, all the brand’s proprietary technologies are concentrated. This is a Helmholtz resonator-based Helmholine mirror frequency response equalization system in a housing with a large number of metal parts.
The massive aluminum panels on the side walls are complemented by milled aluminum bases and aluminum upper planes. All this metal caused the solid weight of the speakers. For maximum rigidity, steel rods were used in the housings.
The Atesia has an Accuton speaker kit. These are four 8-inch bass players and two 5-inch midrange speakers. All of them are equipped with traditional ceramic diffusers and are arranged in a symmetrical d’Appolito configuration. A 1-inch diamond tweeter took its place in the center.
The parts in this three-band ensemble are distributed by a 2nd-order crossover. The manufacturer stated for the Albedo a frequency range of 27-33, 000 Hz with an impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of at least 87 dB.
The speakers are available in leather, black lacquer or walnut veneer and are equipped with a set of spikes and supports for various surfaces.
The cost of Atesia Albedo floor coverings was 118,000 euros.
