For the 100th anniversary of Braun, the Wandanlage system of 1965 was turned into an art object
The German company Braun is celebrating its centenary in 2021. In honor of this date, the company restored its 1965 Braun Wandanlage wall harvester.
In collaboration with the chief creative officer and founder of the Off-White fashion brand, as well as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton Menswear, Virgil Abloh, a work of “functional art”was created from it.
A separate page is dedicated to the project. Reinterpreted after almost 60 years, the Wandanlage has received a polished metal finish.
It is a custom design in which, according to Abloh, ” the design bridges the gap between form and function, and the materials ensure a lifetime of service for the next 100 years”.
The Braun Wandanlage includes a tape recorder, a vinyl player, an amplifier and acoustics — and all the elements have fully retained their functionality.
