Yamaha WXAD-10 Wireless Streaming Adapter
Yamaha introduced the WXAD-10 wireless streaming adapter. The start of sales is scheduled for October 28, 2020. The adapter is compatible with the Yamaha MusicCast wireless music system, supports the most popular streaming services, and lets you play music from a variety of sources via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® and Airplay®. The WXAD-10 adds modern features and ease of use to any audio system. Laconic design and compact size allow you to place the device anywhere.
A Wi-Fi adapter and Ethernet port allows you to listen to music from portable devices and laptops, while DLNA support provides access to local NAS servers and online services Spotify and Deezer. The adapter is also capable of receiving content via Apple AirPlay® and receiving Internet radio stations. The Yamaha WXAD-10 integrates seamlessly into the wireless MusicCast ecosystem: a Hi-Fi player, AV receiver, soundbar, powered speakers or Yamaha Clavinova digital piano can be combined into a multi-room.
The Yamaha WXAD-10 has a digital-to-analog converter based on the advanced Burr-Brown PCM5121 chip, which supports HD formats – WAV, FLAC and AIFF with resolutions up to 24 bit / 192 kHz, as well as ALAC with resolutions up to 24 bit / 96 kHz. The path uses a special digital circuitry to shorten the signal path, as well as the original PML capacitors, also installed in Yamaha AV receivers.
The unique Original Network Module with impeccable signal fidelity and low jitter improves the sound quality of HD files, while the precision clock generator improves the signal-to-noise ratio. Thanks to these measures, the Yamaha WXAD-10 confidently conveys subtle sonic nuances when working with high-resolution sources.
The Yamaha MusicCast Controller app simplifies the operation of the device, allowing you to quickly and easily select desired albums and songs online, create playlists, adjust the volume and configure the system using your smartphone or tablet. The app installed on the smartphone also allows you to remotely control all MusicCast-enabled devices in other rooms. The Yamaha WXAD-10 can also integrate into a centralized IP smart home control system such as Control 4.
The matte finish of the case and the recess on its upper surface give the device the appearance of a fine ceramic. The design is designed so that the adapter fits harmoniously into any interior. The discreet design of the Yamaha WXAD-10 will look good next to any audio component.
