HiFi Rose RA180 – Gallium Nitride Class AD Amplifier

The Korean company HiFi Rose has released the RA180 integrated amplifier, which is distinguished not only by its original design, but also by interesting technical solutions.

The front panel of the device is made in a style that the company’s designers called “retro-industrial“, and which definitely shows similarities with the products of the Swiss Nagra. The amplifier is capable of developing serious power up to 800 watts in the AD (Advanced D) class. At the output, FET-transistors on gallium nitride are installed, which have a radically reduced switching time. Interestingly, the amplifier uses band-pass amplification for high and low frequencies, and even has a built-in active filter that operates in the range from 600 to 6000 Hz.

As many as eight pairs of screw terminals are provided for connecting acoustic systems. On board there is also a universal phono stage for MM and MC heads.

The HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier will be available in May for a retail price of £5,499.
