HiFiMan HE-R10P headphones: planar diaphragms in cherrywood housings
HiFiMan has released the HE-R10P magneto-planar headphones. This is the first closed planar model in the company’s history. The headphones are equipped with Super Nano Diaphragm drivers, the technology and shape of which are borrowed from the Susvara model. HE-R10P cups are carved from solid cherry wood on CNC machines. According to HiFiMan, the geometry of their internal volumes should give the sound of the novelty the best of both the closed and open version.
The Tranquility memory foam ear cushions with leather outer surfaces also feature a calculated interior acoustics. A special hygroscopic material is attached to the head. The HE-R10P headband is covered in lambskin, while the main headphone assemblies are made from aircraft-grade aluminum and steel.
The HE-R10P is equipped with the newly developed He-Rlop cable, which uses silver-plated monocrystalline copper conductors. Headphones received three versions of this cable: with unbalanced 3.5 mm or 6.35 mm connectors and balanced XLR.
Separately, the manufacturer reported that the HE-R10P magneto-planar headphones require at least 150 hours of warm-up for optimal sound quality.
In the US, the HiFiMan HE-R10P headphones will cost $5,500.
