New JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam Soundbar
The JBL Bar 5.0 multibeam soundbar is a compact multifunctional device for music and movies. Among the main differences of the new product, the developers noted the Virtual Dolby Atmos technology and the proprietary multibeam sound distribution system.
Despite its modest dimensions, the manufacturer promised not only impressive surround sound, but also decent bottoms, which are powered by four passive emitters.
The mentioned multibeam system (Harman’s own development) is designed to provide the feeling of a multi-channel setup without additional speakers. Virtual Dolby Atmos technology allowed the soundbar to play high-altitude channel signals.
According to the company, the built-in Bar 5.0 emitters, together with the designated technologies, will delight the user with a rich ambient sound. This concept of virtual cinema sound is called “JBL 3D Surround Sound”.
It is worth noting that Bar 5.0 can work in the same system with devices based on Amazon Alexa and can receive a signal via Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast. There is also a standard Bluetooth.
In the US, the new JBL Bar 5.0 multibeam is expected in the spring at a price of $400.
