Koetsu explains how much an MC transformer can cost
Japanese company Koetsu has introduced a new transformer for moving coil (MC) cartridges. The novelty is dressed in a rather nondescript aluminum case and costs $4,995. What explains such a high price tag? Of course, the point is what is inside. The Koetsu MC step-up transformer provides 26dB gain and is the ideal partner for any cartridge from the legendary Koetsu range.
The manufacturer emphasizes, “For over thirty years, Koetsu has expertly combined materials of the highest purity with natural beauty shapes to create the world’s most sought-after cartridges.
