Olive Pro: headphones with hearing aid functionality
Olive Union, an American headphone company, has announced the fully wireless in-ear Olive Pro model. The new product has a system for suppressing background noise, but the main thing is that Olive Pro can be adjusted to the individual characteristics of the owner and can be used not only for listening to music, but also for enhancing ambient sounds.
That is, these in-ear Bluetooth headphones are also designed for people with hearing impairments. Personalized volume and EQ settings are available on the Olive Union mobile hearing test. The system has a 10-band equalizer, the settings of which can be saved, and the headphones themselves received customizable touch control.
Knowles’ wideband armature drivers and microphones are said to provide the Olive Pro with high-quality calls, music and surround sound amplification. According to the developers, headphones will be able to “cut all the unnecessary costs needed to get a hearing aid”, which usually requires a lot of investment in hearing testing and on the device itself.
The Olive Pro is IPX4 water resistant. Their batteries provide up to 20 hours of autonomy. The novelty can be charged from contactless devices – fast charging is also available. The model supports Bluetooth 5.1 and works with voice assistants. Headphones are supposed to be equipped with earbuds in four sizes.
Olive Pro headphones are featured as a project on Indiegogo. An amount of $20,000 was requested to start production, but the project has already raised five times that amount. Headphone production will be organized in Vietnam. With an investment of $200 on Indiegogo (33.3% off price), you can expect to get the Olive Pro in January.
