Phaseitation EA-2000 phono stage: tube circuit without feedback in a 6-case design
The brand of the Japanese Hi-Fi audio company Kyodo Denshi Engineering Co., Ltd., Phaseutation, formerly known as phasetech, introduced the EA-2000 phono corrector. In fact, this is a lamp circuit with passive EQ without feedback, made in full double mono. So complete that EA-2000 works with stereo channels absolutely separately and consists of six blocks — modules) – three in a channel.
The EA-2000T module is a step-up MS transformer. The EA-2000EQ module is an equalizer. Its SRPP-type, feedback-free amplifier circuit is based on the ECC-803S triode, selected for its excellent transient response, and is complemented by a 6DJ8 lamp output cathode follower.
The device works with three types of curves: RIAA, Decca and Columbia-and uses passive equalization schemes. The system is powered by the EA-2000PS module, based on the proprietary EA-1000 power supply. It uses 5U4G rectifier lamps and an R-core transformer.
In the EA-2000 switching, WBT and XLR Furutech RCA connectors with rhodium-plated contacts were used.
Each of the EA-2000 modules received a robust housing with a 20 mm thick aluminum front panel, a 2 mm thick copper-coated steel plate base, and a 2 mm thick aluminum cover supplemented by a magnetic shield. The lower part of the case is a walnut array. It should suppress unwanted resonances. All this is installed on TAOC vibration isolation supports.
The price of the Phaseitation EA-2000 phono correction kit has not yet been announced.
