Qualcomm Snapdragon QCC517x and QCC307x: BT sound in 24/96
Qualcomm has prepared Snapdragon Sound technologies for the OEM market. These are Bluetooth audio platforms, Qualcomm QCC517x and Qualcomm QCC307x, announced a year ago. They are equipped with dual-mode audio transmission, using LE Audio (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology in addition to conventional Bluetooth. Processor performance is doubled – and the power consumption of new products has not increased.
The novelties are promised flexible configuration with support for 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (“CD-quality”) via lossless Bluetooth, Hi-Res Bluetooth 24 bit / 96 kHz, as well as ultra-wideband telephony at a frequency of up to 32 kHz. Communication will be stable even with congested RF spectrum.
In addition to high quality lossless audio, the new chipsets have added a game mode with ultra-low latency – no more than 68ms, as well as support for in-game chat and a voice return channel. Headphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound, at the same time, will be able to record a stereo signal – this will add creative possibilities to their owners and improve the quality of conversations. In addition, in the microscopic dimensions of a special hardware unit, adaptive noise reduction systems are located.
According to Qualcomm, the QCC517x and QCC307x platforms are currently being tested by the firm’s partners. As part of finished devices, primarily TWS headphones, new items will debut by the fall of 2022.
