Schiit Audio introduced Mani 2 Phono Preamplifier

Schiit Audio Mani 2 has become the successor to the Mani model, which has been produced since 2014. Schiit characteristics: The signal-to-noise ratio has improved by 15dB compared to its predecessor.

Where Mani’s signal had to pass through three capacitors, Mani 2 doesn’t use any,” – said Jason Stoddard, co-founder of Schiit and head of analog development Mani 2.

The main efforts in creating new Mani 2 were aimed at reducing the signal path. Not only all isolation capacitors were removed from the circuit, but also two amplifying stages.

The analog amplification of Mani Two is assigned to the OPA1612 opamp. The gain levels are the same as the original Mani: 35, 45, 50 and 60dB. So the model is compatible with a huge number of cartridges. Resistive load is set to 47kOhm, 200, 47 and 38Ohm, capacitive – 47, 100, 150 and 200pF.

Switching – jumper, they are located on the bottom cover of the device. Stoddard also emphasized that the novelty uses passive correction and a completely switchable rumble filter, and the power supply is linear with two-stage stabilization.
