Sonos patented its own wireless headphones
There is information that Sonos is developing wireless headphones. The successful company, like many, has been hit by the Covid-19. Sonos was forced to lay off more than a tenth of its employees. It is clear that the development of new sectors of the profile market would restore opportunities. Future personal audio products are already being copyrighted. Sketches of future Sonos headphones have appeared, which appear in the patent for these products.
It is clear that the main feature of such headphones may be the ability to integrate them into the existing and future wireless ecosystems of Sonos. “Seamless” playback would also be tempting if, for example, putting on headphones and switching to them, you can continue listening to all the same music, without breaking or stopping.
At the same time, Sonos is obviously choosing options for managing future models, their additional functionality, including the rapidly gaining popularity of voice assistants. In addition, Sonos’ own wireless audio options will have to be supplemented with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with aptX and AAC codecs. This will provide the new product with great versatility – and hence popularity.
