The Warner Classics label released a collection of classics in Dolby Atmos format

Warner Classics, a label specializing in classical music, has released the 3D Classical Collection. The playlist includes 35 works written over four centuries by 26 composers. Their names: Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Verdi, Mahler, Elgar, Ravel, Prokofiev, Holst, Shostakovich, Barbera — speak for themselves.

At Studio One in London’s Abbey Road, this music was performed by the London Philharmonic orchestra and chorus under the direction of a pupil of sir Colin Davis, the young British conductor Ben Gernon. “Our goal was to bring every track to the edge of live performance – Gernon said, – to create an exciting sense of life in music”.

Ben Gernon is currently the principal guest conductor of the BBC Philharmonic orchestra, and has collaborated with orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, LA Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, and Oslo Philharmonic. The announced 35 tracks will be available in Dolby Atmos format on Amazon Music. At the same time, only the universal Amazon Echo Studio speaker can provide a full-format playlist playback option.

“Since the dawn of the music recording industry, the dream has always been to reproduce the classical concert experience as closely as possible” – said Bertrand Castellani, Vice President of A&R Warner Classics&Erato. “The 3D Classical Collection goes one step further. Each track completely submerges the listener in the orchestral sound experience. What could be more exciting than to step into the midst of the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road, with the young and talented Ben Gernon on the conductor’s podium? This new dimension in sound reproduction opens up creative perspectives that we look forward to exploring in the coming years”.
