Laura Niro of the 60s and 70s will be released in an 8-disc vinyl box set
The limited vinyl 8-disc “Laura Nyro: American Dreamer” will be released via Madfish / Snapper Music this summer. The release will be a tribute to the work of one of the most interesting American singers of the late 60s – early 70s.
The publication is all the more valuable because many of Nero’s songs have become popular performed by other well-known bands and artists. In the author’s version, they can be a discovery for many pop music lovers of those times.
The box set will include seven of Nero’s studio albums from this period. These include Eli and the Thirteen Confession (1968), New York Tendaberry (1969), Christmas and the Beads of Sweat (1970) and Gonna Take a Miracle (1971).
Each studio album has been remastered for vinyl. In addition, a bonus disc with archived demos and live versions of Laura Niro’s songs entitled “Rarities & Live Recordings” was added to the set.
The 36-page full-length booklet with lyrics by Peter Doggett promises rare photos and warm words about the singer from Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Todd Rundgren, Rosanne Cash , Rickie Lee Jones, Graham Nash, Donald Fagen, Bette Midler, Patti Labelle and others.
The release will be released on July 30, 2021, it is already available for pre-order. In the UK, the box set “Laura Nyro: American Dreamer” costs £ 160.
