Vertere Acoustics VeRum cables combine conductors of different thicknesses in a complex sheath

British vinyl/cable company Vertere Acoustics has released its VeRum interconnect cable. In the hierarchy of Vertere cables, the novelty is located below the Pulse HB models and above the RedLine. Vertere Acoustics VeRum cables will appear in two variants.

In one version, it is an RCA/XLR interconnect cable. In the VeRum Solo version, it will also be available as a DIN-RCA tonearm cable. In the Vertere portfolio, VeRum will replace the Pulse R cable, also known as HB Light.

As in its predecessor, the Vertere Acoustics VeRum cables uses a wire thinner than a human hair, even when folded in four. At the same time, VeRum conductors are assembled from copper wires of various thicknesses, most of which are silver-plated. According to Vertere, the different thickness of the VeRum conductors will match the different signal characteristics.

High purity silver plated copper

The VeRum structure contains high purity silver plated copper stranded wires and return wires with FEP dielectric, complemented by a thicker high purity silver plated copper stranded wire Pulse Earthline. All of this is surrounded by a tinned copper braid sheathed PVC foil shield. The large number of cores is also intended to make the cable flexible.

Various combinations of conductors, grounding and shielding are available for VeRum. The VeRum Solo version consists of two VeRum cables plus a set of ground wires, which are two high purity tinned copper conductors with PVC dielectric, shielded with special foil and tinned copper braid. All this together is enclosed in a PVC sheath. The resulting three cables are surrounded by cotton padding for damping and protected by a PVC outer sheath.

A 1.5m Vertere VeRum, RCA or XLR interconnect cable costs £2,000 in the UK. The 1.5m DIN-RCA tonearm cable or the VeRum Solo RCA/XLR interconnect cable cost £2,700.
