2020 Meadowlark Nightingale speakers: two-link active systems with Satori drivers and nCore amplification

The American firm Meadowlark Audio announced the “triumphant return of the Nightingale”. The company resumed production of the Nightingale acoustics, which inherited the family traits of the model created in 1996. Apparently, the beryllium tweeter Satori is responsible for this name. This line of drivers, created by the Danish SB Acoustics, includes all the other speakers installed in the new product.

The flagship Nightingale is a 2-link speaker, in which three-way systems based on a 9.5-inch woofer, 7-inch midrange driver and a tweeter with a beryllium membrane are complemented by subwoofers, each of which contains a pair of 10-inch long-throw woofers.

This entire active array is powered by nCore bi-amp DSP signal processing for each speaker – 4 x 500W plus 1 x 100W. The acoustics automatically recognizes which input the signal is coming to: S / PDIF, AES / EBU, in optical, balanced or unbalanced analog version. Accordingly, with the appearance of such a signal, the system is able to exit the standby mode.

A remote control is provided to control the novelty. A 20-band parametric equalizer is available for each channel. In addition, the system can optionally be supplemented with a streamer and Dirac correction module.

Meadowlark Nightingale systems are hand-assembled in the USA, each set is custom made. The cabinets can be faced with any type of wood veneer – this part of the work is done by specialists from Diversified Wood Products, with which Meadowlark Audio has been cooperating for 35 years.

The manufacturer has not yet announced the cost of the new Nightingale.
