CEntrance DACport Pro USB DAC/Headphone Amplifier: Adjustable Output, AKM DAC and AmpExtreme Amplifier

An American company with Russian roots, CEntrance, has released a USB DAC/headphone amplifier for DACport Pro. The novelty is the successor of the successful DACport HD model, but it is equipped with a single input-a USB-C port. The DACport Pro works with PCM signals up to 32 bit/384 kHz and DSD, and is equipped with the acclaimed AKM Velvet Sound DACs.

A pair of linear balanced XLR outputs can have a constant or volume-dependent amplitude. That is, the device can also be used as a controller for active monitors.

According to CEntrance, the volume is controlled by a high-quality potentiometer. It is displayed on large calibrated LED indicators — and their brightness can also be adjusted. The output to the headphones is a 3.5 mm “jack”, the signal level can be adjusted by the Gain switch, so that the resistance of the headphones can be from 16 to 600 ohms.

The novelty is powered by the same USB, using a galvanic isolation from the source with triple filtering, and in total there are five independent power sources in the circuit. The headphone amplifier is designed using Amp Extreme technology with a separate bipolar power supply. The system is compatible with macOS, Linux, and Windows 10 (an ASIO driver is available).
