Apple introduced full-size headphones AirPods Max
Apple has finally officially unveiled its first full — size headphones, the AirPods Max. The new product looks as some rumors have reported — it has metal shackles, rounded rectangular cups that somewhat resemble Apple Watch cases, and a mesh headband.
According to the developers, thanks to the use of the H1 chip and advanced algorithms, they managed to achieve a “phenomenal sound” from the model. According to the press release, each element was carefully calculated and aimed at ensuring maximum comfort and the best sound quality.
The company noted the mesh material on the concave headband and inside the ear pads, the “revolutionary mechanism” for attaching swivel cups and memory foam.
The controls in AirPods Max used a wheel that resembles the Apple Watch’s rotary knob and allows you to adjust the volume, control playback, receive calls and call the voice assistant. There are also a couple of buttons.
The cups feature 40mm speakers with neodymium magnets that provide “deep bass, precise midrange, and clear, clean treble.” Algorithms that load all 10 H1 cores provide adaptive equalizer, active noise reduction, noise transmission mode, and surround sound. There is also a function for sharing audio: sources can transmit the signal simultaneously to two pairs of headphones.
The adaptive equalizer adjusts the sound to the way the headphones sit on your head, adjusting the return on low and medium frequencies in real time. Active noise canceling works with three external microphones and one internal one. There is also a spatial Audio surround sound feature (previously only available for second-generation AirPods and Pro models) – it allows you to emulate multi-channel sound in headphones.
Among the features, the developers noted a simple and fast setup, automatic suspension of playback if the headphones are removed, and automatic start when the headphones are put on again. AirPods Max will put the track on pause, even if the user just lifts one Cup.
The headphones have a battery that will last for a maximum of 20 hours of operation – with noise reduction and surround sound mode enabled. Included with the headphones is a soft case, when you get into which the headphones go into standby mode.
The headphones will be available in five colors: black, white, blue, red and green. The cost of Apple AirPods Max in the US is $ 550. Sales start is scheduled for December 15. In addition to the headphones and case, the kit includes a lightning charging cable. There is no audio cable. The Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter can be purchased separately.
