Astell & Kern Bringing Tidal Support Back To Select Players With An Update

Streaming service Tidal recently changed the authentication system, which made it impossible to use the app on many Astell & Kern players. The bottom line is that Astell & Kern players for the most part run a stripped-down and very limited version of Android, and users can install there only applications approved by the manufacturer.

But iRiver, which owns the Astell & Kern brand, has come up with a solution: for some players, it will release a software update that will allow you to use Tidal as before.

The company has promised to provide updates for the SP2000, SP1000, SP1000M, SE200, SE100, KANN Alpha, SR25, SA700, KANN CUBE, SR15, CT15 and CT10 models by the end of June. True, this is not a complete list of players released by Astell & Kern and previously worked quietly with Tidal.

Models AK380, AK320, AK300, AK70 MKII, KANN, AK240, AK120 II, AK100 II, AK70, AK500N and T1 will remain without updating. For these players, iRiver offered a kind of solution: use the Tidal app on a smartphone and send a signal from it to the player via AK Connect.
