Audio Physic Codex and Midex Acoustics received updates with PowerTrain technology
The German manufacturer of acoustics Audio Physic GmbH has seriously updated two of its floor-standing models at once: Codex and Midex. Both systems will receive PowerTrain drivers.
In particular, this is the recently appeared speaker of the Mittenton series – HHCM SL. There is no centering cross in its design – according to the company, the new product shows a wide dynamic range and high speed. Changes have been made to the crossover circuit specifically for this driver. In addition, the speaker is equipped with an HHCT III tweeter and a paper cone woofer with a diameter of 250mm.
Midex has a pair of 170mm drivers with aluminum cones in the low frequency range. Both models showed a sensitivity of 89dB, the recommended amplifier power for Codex can reach up to 250W, and for Midex – up to 180W. Both models, with a height of about 120cm, received backward-tilted cases with a complex multi-layer wall structure – as is customary with Audio Physic.
It is important that owners of previous Codex and Midx versions will be able to upgrade their speakers to the next level by replacing the speakers. According to Audio Physic, such an operation is available upon request from the company’s dealers.
In Europe, the recommended retail price of the updated Audio Physic Midex systems is from 11,500 euros, Codex – from 14,000 euros. The upgrade kit will cost 2,900 euros.
