Piega Ace Wireless speaker series: WiSA, streaming and HDMI eARC

The release of the Piega Ace Wireless series of acoustics is fully consistent with the slogan of the Swiss brand “Expect more” – this is really an increase in the capabilities of the existing Piega Ace acoustics. In contrast, Ace Wireless is an active acoustics. Alternatively, with a built-in streaming client. So far, the series has included two models: the shelf Piega Ace 30 Wireless and the floor-standing Piega Ace 50 Wireless.

Both are released in two versions. Tx systems have Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect streaming clients (including Spotify HiFi), Roon Ready, Bluetooth (v4.2) and DLNA. The Rx version onboard active acoustics has a digital coaxial / optical input, HDMI eARC, analog stereo switching, an Ethernet input and an external Wi-Fi antenna, as well as an external IR receiver.

Both models use AMT’s proprietary planar tweeters operating up to 25 kHz. Each Piega Ace 30 Wireless two-way speaker has this tweeter complemented by a 120 mm MDS driver. The three-way Piega Ace 50 Wireless have one MDS 120mm driver for the midrange and four more MDS 120mm drivers for low frequencies.

Accordingly, the total power of the built-in amplifiers, receiving a signal from the built-in DSPs, is also different – 100 and 200 W, respectively. The low frequency limit for the Piega Ace 30 Wireless is 35 Hz, and for the Piega Ace 50 Wireless is 30 Hz. Piega’s proprietary extruded aluminum enclosures, made on aircraft equipment, also contributed to these parameters.

At the same time, another column of the series is on its way – the central channel Piega Ace Center Wireless.
