Billie Holiday movie soundtrack to be released on 12-inch vinyl

Music from the film “Billie”, dedicated to the work of the great jazz singer Billie Holiday, will be released on a 12-inch vinyl disc. The premiere of the documentary directed by James Erskine took place on June 12, 2020. The film features unique, previously unpublished tape recordings made by journalist Linda Lipnack Kuehl in the 1970s, as well as newly restored famous versions of songs from Billie Holiday’s repertoire.

The release will include the singer’s iconic compositions such as “Strange Fruit”, “God Bless the Child” and “I Have Eyes For You” performed by Billie Holiday and her band The Sonhouse All Stars. A total of 13 compositions were published on the discs.

The soundtrack for the documentary “Billie” will be released on vinyl via Verve / UMe under the number VERLP05668 on November 13 this year. The disc is already available for pre-order. In the US, vinyl costs $ 24.
