Etta James album to be released in “The Montreux Years” series
Held annually since 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival and the BMG label have launched the “The Montreux Years” series of music publications. Live performances of jazz stars that took place on the festival stage in different years will be released on vinyl and CD. These are recordings from the collection of the company founded by Claude Nobs (Claude Nobs) in 1973, Montreux Sounds. At her disposal-about 5,000 concerts “Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival”.
The first announced release in the series was a double album by Nina Simone. At the same time, the collection “The Montreux Years” by Etta James will be released. The release will include recordings of her concerts in Montreux in 1977, 1978, 1989, 1990 and 1993. The kit promised to add exclusive data and photos. In addition, the audio material will appear on digital services for download and streaming, as well as in full master quality in the Tidal catalog.
The albums were mastered at London’s Metropolis Studios by Tony Cousins using MQA technology. As well as the release of Nina Simone, the album “Etta James: The Montreux Years” will be available from May 28. You can order it by prepayment right now.
