FiiO EM5: the dragon body and 14.2-mm membrane with a beryllium coating
For those who prefer small earphones, but do not like silicone attachments that bursting the ear canal, there is not much choice on the market. FiiO expanded it: the company released the em5 senior plug-in headphones. In the design, it relied on technologies already tested in hybrid and rebar headphones — the case is printed on a 3D printer from high-quality resin, and its shape, according to the company, is inspired by dragons.
Each earpiece has fairly large speakers — 14.2 mm with a beryllium-coated diaphragm. The sound, if believe the description, turned out to be energetic, large, with a wide stage, unimaginable imagery and a noticeable bass. The headphones play in the range from 10Hz to 20kHz, have a resistance of 32 Ohms and a sensitivity of 109dB.
The cable of the model is fixed, it is based on a silver litzendrat with 120 cores. But the input plug can be changed: the kit includes a 3.5 mm Jack and balanced options for 2.5 mm and 4.4 mm. Plus to the plugs included are 18 pairs of foam nozzles and a leather case for storage and carrying. In the US, the FiiO EM5 will cost $300.
