Fyne Audio expands the F1 series with F1-5 and F1-8 speakers with IsoFlare drivers
Fyne Audio from Glasgow, Scotland has launched the F1-5 and F1-8 speakers. These two models complement the flagship F1 series. They were announced back in February at the Bristol Hi-Fi show, but then, due to the pandemic, the company postponed the release to a later date.
Both models create the sound of a point source thanks to the IsoFlare coaxial drivers. A compression tweeter with a magnesium diaphragm is located in the center of the mid-bass driver cone. The F1-5 has a 125mm (5 “) speaker, while the F1-8 has a 200mm (8”) speaker. The tweeters are also different: in caliber, respectively, 19 and 25 mm. Both drivers received proprietary FyneFlute gimbals and are powered by downward-firing passive BassTrax radiators.
An aluminum regulator was placed on the front panel of the speakers, with which you can adjust the level of the “vocal” part of the audio range: from 2.5 to 5 kHz within ± 3 dB.
Cabinets F1-5 and F1-8 are made of birch plywood with natural walnut finish. The speakers can be supplemented with specially designed FS8 aluminum stands, finished in black.
In the UK, the F1-5 was priced at £3,000 and the F1-8 will cost £6,000 per pair. Two FS8 stands are available for £1,000.
