Lithe Audio unveils 17cm Micro Sub Woofer
A very small subwoofer has appeared in the Lithe Audio catalog with a fitting name: Micro Sub Woofer. The ribs of the cubic body are only 17 cm long, and on three edges there are 4-inch emitters with polypropylene membranes: one active and two passive. The baby weighs 3 kg.
This is a wireless model that can be connected to any existing audio system. It also has support for Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The novelty is provided with dual-band Wi-Fi, but there is also a pair of Ethernet connectors.
The power of the micro-sub was 50 W into 4 ohms, it works in the range from 40 to 200 Hz. You can customize its operation using DSP, and all control is available through the proprietary Lithe Audio application for mobile devices. There you can select the cutoff frequency, phase, adjust the volume and gain level, and turn on the filters.
A lot of attention was also paid to the design: in addition to the fact that the subwoofer is compact, it also has smooth-cut corners, due to which it is easier to place it in small rooms. According to Lithe Audio representatives, they have created a unique device that will “add richness and roundness to the sound of any wireless home audio system”.
In the UK, a Micro Sub Woofer will cost £400.
