New Yamaha VC Series Low Profile Ceiling Speakers
The New Yamaha VC series of low-profile ceiling speakers appeared in the Yamaha catalog. The manufacturer attributed compactness, versatility and high-quality sound to the main features of these installation speakers. The Yamaha VC’s set-up should be suitable for any setting, but the company primarily recommended these speakers for commercial installations such as hotels, shops and other public places.
In total, six models were presented in the new series: VC8 with an 8-inch woofer and an inch tweeter, VC with a 6.5-inch woofer and a 0.8-inch tweeter, VC4 with a 4-inch woofer and a 0.8-inch tweeter, as well as modifications VC8N, VC6N and VC4N, which lack rear protective covers (indicated by the “N” marking).
According to Yamaha, all speakers are easy to install and take up little space (the older VC8 is 122mm deep). Models without shrouds are equipped with a soft protective material for even more versatility when mounting in confined spaces. All speakers are equipped with clamps designed to ensure a secure fit.
The Yamaha also emphasized that the VC series is ready to work in systems with both high and low impedance (two types of switching are provided). Nominal speaker impedance (regardless of model) – 16 ohms.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but the manufacturer said that installers can expect a reasonable price.
