PMC Launches A New Studio Loudspeaker Range

The updated line of studio monitoring acoustics, created by the British company PMC, will replace the TwoTwo series models in its portfolio. PMC assured that the new products – PMC6, PMC6-2 and PMC8-2 mid and near field monitors, complemented by PMC8 SUB and PMC8-2 SUB subwoofers – have the same sound character.

The similarity in sound, according to the PMC, has become even more “neutral and fast” – a sign of a good level of development used in the new products. PMC talked about brand new speakers, current DSPs and digital amplifiers combined with ATL’s proprietary technology enhancements and Laminair’s airflow optimization.

PMC has proposed scalable systems that are easy to scale up as user demands increase. Monitors can be supplemented with active subwoofers to create PMC XBD dual cabinet systems. This does not prevent the use of subwoofers as monitor acoustics of bass subchannels. There are also expansion slots for alternative connection options.

The acoustics can be controlled from panels on the rear walls or using the SoundAlign network interface in a browser window on a PC, Mac or tablet.

PMC is already accepting pre-orders for all new speaker. Prices range from €6,115 for the PMC6 to €15,370 for the PMC8-2. The PMC8 SUB will cost €3,075 and the PMC8-2 SUB €5,420.
