Quadral Signum: RiCom SIGMA tweeter and titanium-coated diffusers
The series of budgetary acoustics Signum from the German company Quadral has so far included four models: the Signum 20 rack-mount compact two-way speaker, two variants of floor-standing speakers, Signum 90 and Signum 70, and the Signum 10 Base center channel acoustics.
The common feature of all four models is the RiCom SIGMA tweeter developed specifically for the Signum series, made on the basis of a ring radiator.
Quadral assures that the tweeter provides excellent detail with near-perfect transient response and additionally suppresses odd harmonics. The bass and midrange drivers of the Quadral Signum speakers are titanium-coated polypropylene cones.
These speakers have different sizes. For example, the senior floorstand of the series – Signum 90 (1.05 m in height) – received a pair of such speakers with a diameter of 18 cm.The 90-cm Signum 70 floorstands are equipped with three such drivers, but their diameter is 16 cm.
The Signum 20 rack-mountable is 30 cm high and has one such speaker, while the Signum 10 Base center channel system has two. By the way, only this system received a closed case, all the rest of the acoustics in the series are phase inverters.
The impedance of all Quadral Signum speakers is the same – 4 ohms. The novelties from the Quadral Signum series are available in black or white piano lacquer.
