Rosso Fiorentino presented the Fiesole series 2 acoustics: aluminum panels and ultrasonic supertweeter

The Italian firm Rosso Fiorentino presented the Fiesole series 2 acoustics. The low frequency range is answered by a 6.5-inch driver with a Nomex paper cone, a long-stroke voice coil and a ventilated ferrite magnet system. The high frequency response is achieved by a combination of a 28mm neodymium dome tweeter and an aluminum diaphragm ribbon super-tweeter specially designed by Rosso Fiorentino.

The company noted that the super-tweeter operates in the 30-100 kHz range. According to them, this improves the “ambiance” and natural sound, which is especially true for high-quality digital Hi-Res. With an impedance of 8 ohms (5 ohms minimum), the maximum recommended power of the amplifier connected to the Fiesole series 2 was 150 watts.

The design of the novelty inherits its first version more than 10 years ago. The cabinet still uses a mix of materials with different mechanical characteristics. This time, it adds aluminum side panels and an updated brace system, complete with rubber elements. The damped front panel is made in a sandwich structure of thick aluminum and HDF. Sound diffusing surfaces are applied inside the cabinet, combined with three different types of sound absorbing materials.

For Fiesole series 2, special stands have been created from precious woods. The entire production process is said to take place in Italy (partly in the Rosso Fiorentino laboratory) and is carefully controlled at every stage. The cabinet is finished in a combination of a matt black surface of the front aluminum panel with sides in gloss black or natural walnut veneer. In addition, upholstery in genuine Tuscan red leather is available to order.

The cost of the Rosso Fiorentino Fiesole series 2 has not yet been announced.
