Rotel Michi X3 and X5 – New Integrated Amplifiers in Legendary Lineup

Rotel has added a pair of integrated amplifiers, the Michi X3 and Michi X5, to the existing Michi family of preamps and power amplifiers.

Rotel Michi X5 Integrated Amplifier – Fully featured component with support for as many as 14 source inputs including analog, digital, balanced XLR, PC-USB with DSD 2X decoding, plus MQA rendering, and Bluetooth with APT-X and AAC , plus high quality wireless audio streaming, and a cartridge phono stage with both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. The built-in D / A conversion module uses a 32-bit AKM DAC, 768 kHz, for the utmost in precision and synchronism.

The architecture of the X5 closely follows the existing Michi P5 / S5 pre / power amp combination and is similarly powered by two large in-house toroidal transformers, allowing the X5 to deliver up to 600 watts into 4 ohms and 350 watts into 8 ohms with near limitless power. but controlled bass energy. Isolating the power supply to all sensitive circuits also removes unwanted noise and distortion, further enhancing the amp’s sonic signature.

The graphic display on the front panel provides easy access to all setup options with the included, custom designed Michi Proprietary Remote. The display is configurable to show either the operating status or the 12-band graphic equalizer or peak power meter. RS232 bus and Ethernet communication allows easy integration with automation systems.

The Rotel Michi X3 Integrated Amplifier delivers 350 watts into 4 ohms and 200 watts into 8 ohms, and features a highly efficient, massive toroidal transformer that independently powers analog, digital, and output stage voltage regulators for optimal power line isolation.

The X3 architecture is designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation, high quality audio output through circuitry that optimizes signal paths to each of 13 input sources including XLR, analog, digital, PC-USB, Bluetooth wireless streaming apt-X and phono stage for moving magnet cartridges (MM).

Using a direct signal path circuit topology, the X3 further isolates sensitive audio signals and digital processing circuits from the power amplification stage, reducing noise and providing an improved soundscape.

The high-resolution display on the front of the X3 allows quick setup of all functions and offers several user-selectable display configuration options during operation. RS232 bus and Ethernet connection allow integration with all popular control systems.

The integrated amplifier Rotel Michi X5 will arrive in Russia in November 2020, and its younger brother Rotel Michi X3 will go on sale in October.
